Dr. Douglas Bittel was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. He is excited to be back in his hometown getting the chance to help the people of the South Hills community.
Dr. Bittel’s passion for chiropractic started at the age of 11. He received his first adjustment for low back pain and was hooked from that moment on. He realized the importance of regular chiropractic care at a young age, which ultimately led him into the chiropractic profession. He attended the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on exercise science. After three years, Dr. Bittel received early acceptance to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Bittel graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
He is board certified (NBCE) and licensed in Chiropractic and Adjunctive Therapy in Pennsylvania. Dr. Bittel is also certified in the Graston Technique, which is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. It is beneficial in breaking up scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and reducing inflammation that causes pain and restricted mobility.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bittel is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoys the outdoors, fishing, and hockey. Dr. Bittel looks forward to helping you achieve your optimal health and wellness. If you have any questions or concerns, he can be reached directly by email at drdouglasbittel@gmail.com.
If you're lucky enough (and if he's not sleeping), you might get to meet Jack. Jack is the current employee of the month at Bittel Chiropractic & Wellness Center, and his streak continues (he has an "in" with the owner). Jack is a rescue dog turned therapy dog. He was trained through Animal Friends of Pittsburgh and frequents local hospitals and senior living centers. He enjoys cheese, a nice butt rub, and his Mama Marea.
